The Story of My Life (Over One Day)

Over the past few days I've been writing my longest ever blog post (when you consider my other posts it doesn't really take much), only it hasn't been for my own blog but for Indie Quarter which in their own words is "blogging about independent designers, makers, crafters". Always good.

So, if you're at all curious about what I actually do with myself with a peek at my "studio" why not take a little detour to......

A Day in the Life of Janice ..............

It also happens to be the only place where you'll see what the J in JaniceJ stands for.

Getting creative again!

After something of a creative block I'm now in the middle of a couple of new illustrations, whether they'll make it to the shop, who knows, I have plenty of abandoned drawings.

The first is The Snooker Hall, it's inspired by an old place near work that was probably great in it's day.

And the second, I'm not sure what it will be but these little sweet/toy dispensers outside a shop popped into my head and just had to be put on paper.

More French reading comprehension

Thanks to Nat who posted this on her shared blog, MaxiTendance.

It's the strangest place yet to see my work. My little pieces are amongst posts on high fashion and the latest gadgets.

A New One

It's been a little while since I put anything new in the shop but now here's my latest just listed. Not my usual architecturally inspired work, something a little sweeter.

It's meant to be It's Raining Donuts but unfortunately apostrophes are still illegal in Etsy listing titles.

A Visit to a Wonderful Blog

Julie of JULIE ♥ ADORE recently posted this on her blog. It's my The Good Harvest Supermarket. I was led there by a comment she left on my blog though I've been there before during which I made an attempt to remember my school French.

I have to say she has one of the most beautiful blogs I've seen, full of lovely pictures of other artists' work. It's definitely a place to make great discoveries. So if you haven't been why not go now.

A little bit on Bloesem

So I got myself onto another great design blog. This time it's Bloesem, which I think has a very classy look to it. Just look at the lady on the banner.

Writer, Irene, was nice enough to put up this post only hours after I sent in my submission.

Thanks to IndieFixx and Bloesem I've received a record number of hearts for my shop today.

TGIF on Indiefixx

What joy to find this while I was browsing through some of my favourite online haunts. A feature on my shop on Indiefixx, a site for indie style & design. I only sent in about my shop a few days ago so wasn't expecting anything for a while, especially not a whole post on my work. Needless to say I'm delighted.

I'm featured on this week's

On the 1st Day of February.

So now I'm currently in 4 treasuries. The latest is by siansburys a fellow UK Etsian, in Black and White and a hint of red.

In there is Maze City on the left.

Also, I just got accepted onto Trunkt, an online curated portfolio site, which feels pretty nice.
